It has been confirmed that Mario Andresol is the new director-general of the Haitian National Police. The former director of the DCPJ (Central Management of the Judicial Police) replaces Leon Charles, whom the authorities have appointed adviser at the Haitian embassy in Washington, where he will be in charge of security. We recall that Andresol is a former senior police officer. He was the director of the DCPJ. He had to leave the country after the events of  December 17, 2001. He was one of the PNH officials who were put in isolation at that time.
