Caribbean leaders have proposed sending help, possibly foreign policing assistance, while pushing Aristide to accept a sharing of political power. Canada and the U.S. accept that plan, others, though, say Aristide prefers violence to cooperation with his opponents? Do you think that Aristide has to go in order for the situation to be fixed?

Yes.

And how can that be accomplished?

I think you can grease the skids in various ways, and the policy-makers know how to do that.
