The National Congress of the Papaye Peasant Movement (MPNKP) urges all sectors to rise up to free the country from the Lavalas dictatorship. In a statement made public this weekend, the movement of Chavannes Jean-Baptiste laments the political, economic, and social situations. The MPNKP denounces the negotiations to end the crisis and asks the OAS to stop supporting the Lavalas Family. Moreover, the peasant organization wants the persecution and intimidation of various sectors of society to come to an end. They also call for the suspension of the free trade zone in the Northeast. The MPNKP supports the movement of the State University students and says that it is ready to participate in any mobilization to get rid of the Lavalas regime.
